Thank you for your interest in and participation in the 8th edition of the Jeonju International Awards for Promoting Intangible Cultural Heritage (JIAPICH).
We were honored to receive an unprecedented number of applications from around the world, making this year's selection process one of the most competitive in the history of the awards. This remarkable level of participation reflects the growing global commitment of communities, organizations, and individuals dedicated to safeguarding intangible cultural heritage and ensuring its transmission to future generations.
We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to all applicants for sharing their inspiring initiatives, experiences, and achievements. The jury members were deeply impressed by the diversity, quality, and impact of the submissions received.
Following a rigorous evaluation process conducted by an international jury, we are pleased to announce the selected laureates of the 2026 JIAPICH Awards, as well as the backup candidates who received outstanding recognition from the jury.

At present, the selected laureates are currently subject to a public verification process, which will continue through the end of June 2026. The final confirmation of award recipients will be made upon the completion of this process and the review of any relevant information received during the verification period.
The 2026 JIAPICH Award Ceremony will be held in Jeonju, Republic of Korea, on September 11, 2026. Formal invitations and further information regarding the ceremony will be provided in due course.
This year's selection process was exceptionally competitive, and we would like to sincerely thank every applicant for the dedication, passion, and effort reflected in their submissions. We encourage all applicants who were not selected this year to consider applying again in the future, as many distinguished candidates and award recipients have achieved recognition after participating in multiple editions of the awards.
